Staufen AG continues its expansion strategy in China with a new branch in Beijing. In addition to Shanghai, HongKong and Shenyang, this is the fourth office of “Staufen China” in the Asian nation. The crucial reason for its presence in the Chinese capital: Beijing’s importance for the international and the Chinese industry is on the increase. “More and more globally operating companies opt for Beijing and in their wake attract suppliers to follow,” explains David Müller, General Manager Staufen Shanghai and automotive expert. “The most recent example is the Daimler AG decision to double the production capacity of its Beijing plant by 2015. The Stuttgart-based company currently employs 9,000 people in its Beijing plant, the company’s largest factory site in the world. At the same time, most Chinese state-owned companies and national industrial associations have their head offices in the capital.” The Staufen office in Beijing is located in the “German Center”, a subsidiary of the Landesbank Baden-Württemberg (LBBW). The “German Center” has established itself as an important contact for SME companies looking for access to partners and markets. “Our expansion in China is happening at exactly the right time,” says Thorsten Amann, a member of the Staufen AG executive board and responsible for business development in Asia. “The ever growing lack of skilled employees and rapidly rising wages force Chinese and multinational companies to set the course for more efficient industrial production in China. As proven experts in lean management and process optimisation, we provide practical support for customers in strategy and business development. In our view, one of the most important tasks of the companies present in the Chinese market at present is the establishment of professional supplier development.” Contact in China:
